shelf life of cookies

How long to homemade chocolate chip cookies keep?

Ive got cookies that were made, probably for a 4th of July picnic (though I'm not 100% positive-they may be older) they've been sealed in tupperware since then. No visible mold growth, haven't opened the container to do a sniff test.

I'm hungry, can they possibly still be good? What if I microwaved them to kill the germs?

what if I said maybe there leftover from Easter?

Missy's home now. She'd freak out if I ate one. We'll have to resume this experiment next time I'm home alone

At worst they're stale and won't taste good. They're not going to spoil like meat would and give you food poisoning. Just don't eat them if you see mold growing on them.

I ate some, now I feel sick. Not sure if it's in my head or not.

What about the eggs in the batter, are you saying they don't spoil after cooking?

Umm, no. :mumble:

It's in your head. As long as there wasn't anything growing on them there is NOTHING that can happen to you eating those cookies except they might taste bad becuase they're STALE.

OK, don't believe me. :neener:

Ingestion of the cookies proved to be non-fatal. Stomach distress could be attributed to movie theater popcorn/fake butter from the night before.

Fake butter? Uhhhhh yeah, that might have been the cause of the upset tummy. On top of popcorn even... ROFL
